Chronology

1949

The metal-processing company of Meding GmbH is founded in Iserlohn in 1949 and taken over by the Pietzner family in 1974.

1976

The manufacture of plastic products starts at the new site in Lüdenscheid.

 

1986

The company takes the decisive step to begin manufacturing products for the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.

 

1992

Construction is completed of a new production and office building in the Halver-Oeckinghausen business park. 

 

1995

The high standard of quality is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9002 within the framework of a quality management system.

 

1995

The warehouse areas are expanded.

 

1998

On June 14, 1998, Meding GmbH is granted authorisation to apply the CE mark to its medical products.

1999

Additional production equipment and more and more articles result in a considerable expansion to the production area under conditions similar to those in clean rooms.

 

2001

Construction of an additional warehouse.

 

2002

Meding converts the QA system to the new standards DIN EN ISO 9001 : 2000 and EN ISO 13488.

 

2006

In June 2006, the factory space is increased by around 30% with a three-storey administrative building. The new 13485 : 2003 standard is introduced.

 

2008

Hybrid components are added to the product range.

 

2009

Introduction of standards DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 and DIN EN ISO 13485 : 2007.

 

2010

Expansion of development and production of 2-component and 3-component parts. Meding starts manufacture of own prototypes using 3D printing process.

 

2011

A high-bay warehouse with space for 512 pallets is built. Capacity in the class 7 clean room is expanded.

 

2012

Conversion of the standards to the latest versions DIN EN ISO 13485 : 2003 / AC 2009  and DIN EN ISO 9001:2008.

 

2013

Energy-saving injection-moulding machines are added. An energy audit takes place.

 

2014

Invest in energy-saving injection moulding machines. New maximum shot weight: 1.600 gram. Implementing of a 3D Printer.

 

2015

Recertification according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 and EN ISO 13485:2012. Implementing of a high-precision optical 2D measuring system.
